Careers Guidance

Careers Guidance

The Vision for Careers at Bramley Grange Academy

Personal Development is incredibly important as it will support pupils to develop the knowledge, skills, values and confidence they will need to keep themselves safe and healthy and lead rich and fulfilling lives as part of modern society.

As part of that provision our Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance curriculum helps our students prepare themselves for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences they will have once they leave school.  We aim to help our students make decisions and manage transitions both as learners and workers and our offer has been structured around the Gatsby Benchmarks, working with our careers partner EDT (Work Experience) and in partnership with the Surrey Careers Hub.

We recognise that our SEMH students will be on their own unique education and careers journey, and we provide support according to their stage and not their age to ensure students leave school with the self-belief, direction and tools required to achieve in education, enter employment, become a valued member of society and lead rewarding lives.

Careers Programme

Our careers programme is constantly being reviewed and improved to meet the specific needs of our cohort.

Careers Programme targets 2025/26

Meaningful & Inclusive Work Experience

• Develop a clear, high-quality plan for work experience as a core priority

• Ensure experiences are purposeful, accessible, and aligned with student development

Embedded Careers Education

• Careers education is fully integrated across the wider curriculum

• Staff, pupils, and parents are actively engaged, creating a shared culture around careers

Create a Structured, Long-Term Careers Framework

• Devise a clear and coherent 5-year careers journey that supports students’ progression and decision-making

• Ensure our careers provision is continuous, developmental, and cumulative, not reliant on one-off or stand-alone events

Student Mindset & Raising Aspirations

• Students leave feeling successful, valued, and confident, with a strong belief in their own potential

• Students develop high aspirations for their future, challenge self-limiting beliefs, feel capable, and broaden what they see as possible
