Councillor Jeremy Webster visits Bramley Grange Academy

Cllr Jeremy Webster visits Bramley Grange Academy

Bramley Grange Academy was delighted to welcome Councillor Jeremy Webster for a visit last week.
The special school, located in Bramley, Guildford and part of London South East Academies Trust, supports 11–18-year-olds with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
Cllr Webster was met by Headteacher, Louise Needham and given a tour of the school by pupils. They visited lessons and activities including PE, English and Food Technology, with the Councillor speaking to staff and young people about their positive experiences at Bramley Grange.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the wider SEND landscape in Surrey and the growing demand for specialist school places, as well as the important role schools like Bramley Grange play in supporting young people with additional needs.
Speaking after the visit, Cllr Webster said:
“It was a pleasure to visit Bramley Grange Academy and see first-hand the dedication of the staff and the enthusiasm of the pupils.
“The school provides an incredibly supportive and much needed environment for  young people with SEMH to grow in confidence and develop their skills. I was very impressed by the work taking place here and grateful to the pupils and staff who took the time to show me around.”
Headteacher Louise Needham added:
“Our pupils really enjoyed the chance to meet Cllr Webster and share what makes Bramley Grange such a special place to learn.
“We are very proud of the hard work our pupils and staff put in every day. It is fantastic to have the opportunity to showcase the positive environment we are building here, as part of the school’s rapid improvement journey.”
Bramley Grange Academy (previously Grafham Grange) joined London South East Academies Trust on 1 September 2025. This was following an Academy Order being issued to the school by the Department for Education in 2024 and LSEAT being selected as the preferred Trust to take the school forward.
